A Federal High Court seating in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has sentenced a man to four months in prison for distributing pornographic photographs through a computer system.
Ahmed Oladimeji was found guilty of a one count amended charge bordering on the offence following a plea bargain deal with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The crime fell under Section 24 (1) (a) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention) Act, 2015, and is punishable under Section 24 (1) (b) of the Act. Ahmed also pled guilty to the offence.
The court ordered that all items recovered from Ahmed during the investigation be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
In addition to serving his jail term, Ahmed was ordered to refund all the money he had obtained from his victims.
